About Us

We are a local Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) serving the greater Pittsburgh area.  We’re a bunch folks with one common interest - aviation!  Whether you are building or flying an aircraft, or just have your head turned skyward dreaming, we’re the club for you.

Throughout the year we host many events.  Each month we have a general Chapter meeting and Board of Directors meeting.  We encourage everyone to attend.  General Chapter meetings are conducted by our members and their presentations range from building tips and techniques, to travel stories (and everything aviation in between).  August of every year we host a corn roast at Rostraver Airport (KFWQ).  We also host several Young Eagles Events and other special events like the EAA B-17 and Ford Tri-motor.  Keep an eye on the Events page to see what’s coming up.

A little history:
The EAA was founded in 1953 by a group of airplane enthusiasts mostly comprised of airplane builders.  Our Chapter was founded in 1958 by Pittsburgh residents (airplane enthusiasts of course!) who wanted to support and promote the EAA.  While EAA is comprised of all walks of aviation enthusiasts, one main goal is to promote and protect the privilege to design, build, and fly experimental aircraft.
